Shannon delivered a riveting talk to our team today, the office was absolutely buzzing when she left! I have never been a part of a two-hour meeting where no one checks a watch or a phone (sadly) and where everyone is left wanting more. Candid and conversational, this talk delivers hard truths, savvy strategies and solid research that underscores her message: Influencers are here to stay and the value in partnering with them is greater than you realize. Any organization that wants to increase brand awareness and ROI on marketing campaigns (particularly amongst a younger demographic) needs this talk.

I asked Shannon Gallagher to do a guest lecture on influencer relationships and marketing for the social media class I teach at Seneca College, because I can think of no one who has done more research on the topic, its challenges, opportunities, and best practices. Shannon is a highly engaging presenter and storyteller, backs up her ideas and insights with data, is friendly and approachable, and very open when sharing her knowledge and information. The students got a lot out of her talk and I’d invite her back anytime!

My brilliant McMaster supervisee Shannon Gallagher of Influence Logic shared some amazing insights with the Centennial PR students yesterday. We combined my BPRM students with the postgrad class so that we could all hear her speak. A significant part of Shannon’s MCM capstone project was to develop a 12-step process for the influencer relations function, based on her original research; the entire field of PR will benefit from her work. I’m unbelievably proud of her and I can’t wait to see what bright future her business has.

Shannon is a great example of the thought leadership we pride ourselves on at MCM. She has turned a problem that she experienced (fear of working with influencers) into an evidence-based solution (best practices for working with influencer). She delivered her talk on why influencer relations is a blue ocean for PR at our Fall 2019 MCM residency and it was a thought-provoking presentation. I strongly encourage businesses who are looking to delve into working with influencers to have Shannon come speak to your staff. Her research is helping draw the roadmap to effective influencer relations and we are proud that she has decided to use her MCM research in a way that makes a difference to the future of our profession."
